The story so far...

Captain are a British alternative rock band from London, England, who formed in 2004. Influenced by groups such as The Smashing Pumpkins, The Beach Boys, My Bloody Valentine and The Cure, their music has also been compared by critics to Prefab Sprout, The Beautiful South and Deacon Blue. The group signed to EMI Records and achieved success in 2006 with their singles "Broke" and "Glorious", which reached numbers 34 and 30 on the UK Singles Chart respectively. Their Trevor Horn produced debut album, This Is Hazelville, was released on 14 August 2006 and reached number 23 on the UK Albums Chart.

Captain recorded their second album with EMI but due to the company being acquired, were dropped (with many other artists) before it was released. It remains unreleased to this day.

For Irini was Captain's 3rd studio album which was self-released and crowdfunded via PledgeMusic.

Now Captain are back once again with their 4th studio album, The Blue Rose, released to the fans which funded it in 2025, and general release in 2026.

Captain

Captain, the band that captured hearts with UK chart hits like "Glorious" and "Broke," returned in 2024, with their first live show in 10 years, followed by further shows across the UK. Following a successful kickstarter campaign, they have been working hard on their 4th studio album, which is set for general release in early 2026 with some further live shows to follow.

Captain, formed in 2005, have had mainstream music scene adventures and continue to have a dedicated fan base across the world, known for their distinctive sound and vocal harmonies of Rik Flynn and Clare Meckled-Szembek. Captain has consistently pushed creative boundaries, earning critical acclaim and some chart success along the way.

Captain's highly anticipated new album “The Blue Rose” is a return to more guitar-led sound, with Captain's distinctive vocals and epic, innovative arrangements.
